Spectrophotometer is an instrument for physical analysis which provides wavelength-by-wavelength spectral analysis of the reflecting and/or transmitting properties of the object without interpretation by human. It has many available illuminant combinations that can be used for calculating tristimulus data and metamerism index. It is better in identifying metamerism than colorimeters. It gives more specific, accurate and better colour control of different material.
